On March 2nd , 2009 the Guyana and Trinidad Mutual Fire Insurance Co. Ltd launched its Female Road Rescue Club at the Tower Hotel.  “GTM is proud to be the first insurance company in Guyana to offer this benefit to its clients” Nadia Sagar Company Manager.

Ms Sagar said further that the Company is committed to creating innovative products aimed at meeting the changing expectations of its clients.

Ms Beverly Harper, Director of GTM, in her presentation spoke about the Company’s recognition of women as strong and capable members of the society who unfortunately remain vulnerable in certain situations.  She pointed out that membership of the Club is not a sign of helplessness but rather a means by which a woman can take control over her own safety on the roads.

The Female Road Rescue Club is just the first in what the company envisages will be many more products aimed at groups within the society that deserve special attention, for example our valued senior citizens.

The Company will be inviting all existing female policyholders who qualify to join the Club however anyone having queries about the Club are welcome to seek advice at the GTM Branch nearest them. [ more]

GTM Re-Commissions Fitness Trail in the National Park
Under the theme Fitness improves longevity and Fitness is the best insurance

Over 20 years ago the GTM Group in collaboration with the National Parks Commission (NPC) launched the fitness trail around the outer perimeters of the National Park. While some minor repairs were done over the years the GTM Group recognized recently that all that was left standing were remnants of the Trail.

On December 28, 2006 the rehabilitated trail was re-commissioned and this time around in our collaboration with the National Parks Commission we entered into a formal agreement with them. This will ensure that the trail is maintained year round.

About the Trail…

This GTM Fitness Trail is made up of twenty (20) exercise stations that are user and environmentally friendly. At each station, users are coached by signs carrying clear instructions. This unique, outdoor, self-guided exercise system provides a good fitness workout for people of all ages, any ability and fitness level. In addition you work at your own pace. The Trail is designed with a variety of exercises and on completion of the entire trail; one would have worked every muscle in the body.

We expect that in addition to the regular park joggers, this trail will attract sporting bodies, as we know it can contribute to the over-all fitness training objectives of any sport and provide a welcome break from other fitness routines.

Evidence now confirms the benefits of exercise and this is GTM's way of contributing to a healthy nation.

It would be remiss of us not to mention the efforts of the late Bunny Fernandes who was instrumental in the setting up of the original trail. He actively pursued this venture with the GTM Group and was directly involved in the construction of the stations. We also owe a huge depth of gratitude to Ms. Inge Nathoo and her team for accommodating our many requests over the last few months while the stations were being constructed.

We trust that together we can maintain this mini outdoor gym - where the public can work out effectively, safely and have fun.

At GTM We care - Life is precious…Fitness improves living and we wish all users a healthy journey.

The GTM Group Recommissions Customer Service Area

In our quest to continue to provide ‘Superior Service’, we have redesigned our customer service area to provide a more spacious and customer friendly atmosphere. The special ‘senior citizens’ service area is a new feature in the modern front office layout which is intended to provide an improved level of assistance to our senior clients.

The creation of the new role of a Customer Service Manager (Ms. Sandy Basdeo) is another example of our firm commitment of adding ‘People to the Product’. We have merged the Life and Fire Sales Sections creating a unified Group Marketing and Sales Department headed by a Group Marketing Manager (Ms. Elizabeth Cox) in our thrust to foster a professional Sales team to provide a total Insurance Package to the public.

We will also be regularly soliciting the views of our clients to better understand their needs, so that our service delivery can match the ever changing business environment.

We have just completed Phase 1 of the upgrading of our Network and Data Base infrastructure to provide faster access to critical information thus providing a further boost .

Yes! we are on the move - These bold new initiatives are in keeping with our new ‘Vision & ‘Mission’.

Come visit us in our new environment and experience our ‘Superior Service’ as we continue to align our business processes to match your expectations.
